About VibeWatch
What is VibeWatch?
VibeWatch is a free movie and TV show tracking application available on the web at vibewatch.app and on Android through the Google Play Store. It helps users discover content based on their mood, maintain a watchlist of titles to watch later, track everything they've watched with personal 1–10 ratings, and share recommendations with friends. Unlike Letterboxd, which only covers movies, or Serializd, which only covers TV shows, VibeWatch tracks both in a single unified experience with one watchlist, one watched diary, and one profile (see the full VibeWatch vs Letterboxd comparison for how the two differ). Powered by The Movie Database (TMDB), VibeWatch provides comprehensive metadata including cast, crew, trailers, reviews, and streaming availability for over one million titles. All features are completely free with no premium tier or paywall.
How It Works
Browse trending movies and TV shows on the homepage, search by title or person name, or use mood-based discovery to find content that matches how you feel. Mood categories like “Edge of Your Seat”, “Comfort Watch”, and “Mind-Bending” surface tailored suggestions using TMDB keyword data rather than generic genre lists.
Add interesting titles to your watchlist with a single tap from any title page, search result, or trending row. Your watchlist syncs across web and Android so you never lose a recommendation.
After watching a movie or show, move it to your watched list and rate it on a 1–10 scale. Your ratings build a personal viewing diary with stats, filters, and a shareable public profile. If you've added your own streaming sources, you can watch directly on the title page with automatic progress tracking that resumes where you left off.

Why I built VibeWatch
I kept searching for a Letterboxd that also handled TV. Every answer online was the same short list of half-finished products. Trakt wanted money for core features. Serializd only covered television. TV Time was an ad experience. Nobody had done the thing properly.
So VibeWatch is the answer I wanted when I was searching. Movies and TV share one diary, one profile, one Top 10. Mood discovery replaces genre dropdowns. A daily email digest flags new episodes and movie drops so you stop hunting. Plex and Jellyfin streams play directly inside the app if you run your own server.
VibeWatch is free, with no paid tier in the plan. Read the full comparisons vs Letterboxd and vs Trakt for where VibeWatch fits and where it does not.
Questions people ask
Is VibeWatch free?
Yes, entirely. No ads, no paid tier, no locked features. Movies, TV, ratings, watchlist, release digest, Plex and Jellyfin playback, everything the app does is included.
Who built VibeWatch?
A solo developer. VibeWatch is an independent project, not a company. Built because every other tracker either ignored TV, charged for it, or looked like it was stuck in 2015.
What data does VibeWatch use?
Movie and TV metadata comes from The Movie Database (TMDB) via their public API. VibeWatch is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
Will VibeWatch ever charge for features?
No paid tier is planned. The whole point of building VibeWatch was to have a tracker that does not go down that path.
Does VibeWatch work on iPhone?
The website works on any iOS browser. The Android app is on Google Play. A native iOS app is planned.
How is VibeWatch different from Letterboxd or Trakt?
Letterboxd only covers movies. Trakt locks core features behind a paid plan. VibeWatch is free and tracks both movies and TV in one diary. Full comparisons: VibeWatch vs Letterboxd and VibeWatch vs Trakt.
Data Sources
